A few months ago,
ArtisteSpace in cooperation with SMX Convention at SM Aura held an art appreciation event open for all.
Hue and Me had different types of art displayed by different artists.

This is one of the first few art pieces I saw and it became one of my favorites. The sculpture looks like a couple dancing on top of a rock. I liked the minimalist look with the simple silver body and transparent heads. The beautiful art piece beside it is also one of my most admired sculptures in the event.

This specific sculpture in the left seems to tell me the dynamic of a society`s structure. The one on top can be the president, top businessman/woman, or religious figure. Those that are below the one on top are the ones that also really help him/her stay on top. The figures at the very bottom can represent the mass, customers, supporters or followers. To me, this represents the reality and entirety of how most successes usually work. Regardless whether we are at the top of the world, our own country, company, school, or home, there are still many people helping to lift us up. This is a very interesting and thought-provoking art piece with a nice minimalist design.

Seeing the
Mr. Ronald Castrillo`s sculptures invokes in me the fascination for 3-dimensional arts. The art piece above seems to be a happy place for Filipinos. It reminds me of my childhood with the iconic dirty ice cream vendor and his cart, helium balloons being held by children, mother with her child, and kid seemingly trying to ask a
manong (Translation: A Filipino word for an "elderly man") to get him some coconut from the tree.

The sculpture above is a very beautiful art piece that very well represents a part of Filipino living especially in the province with its Nipa Huts, bamboo poles and boat in the water.

In the event, there were some on-site artists creating their piece using water color.
Below are some of the art pieces I also found interesting. There were many other arts displayed in the event. However, I wasn`t able to take photos of all arts showcased.
The 4-in-1 art piece is quite a nice idea that brings separate canvasses together. The seemingly pink color theme is something that I liked about this painting because it makes the painting and view of the landscape brighter yet cozier. This art piece will be a great accent to an all white minimalist home.

Mr. Edmund Sarte Yang`s paintings look very simple and serene. These can be great art pieces inside the bedroom because of their peaceful nature.

There were also talks by notable people for different topics like art, photography, doodles, and many more. It was unfortunate I was only able to hear some of the talks. However, from the talks I`ve attended, the art appreciation event did seem very enlightening and knowledgeable.

Happy Art showcases beautiful sceneries like the painting at the right side with the child reading a book by the tree. These art pieces definitely exudes peace and warm joy.
The painting in the middle is also one of my favorite art pieces from this event. The background is quite dark which delivers a mysterious and intriguing message while the flowers deliver a mesmerizing message of beauty, hope, color, and vibrancy.

Ang Buhay at Hugis sa Paete showcased different three-dimensional sculptures and art pieces which are seemingly heavily inspired and influenced by Philippine culture with the carvings of historical and old churches, tropical theme of art, and traditional clothes of some of the sculptures.
Mr. Philipp Badon had some interesting art pieces especially with the framed black-and-white arts.
These art pieces with the floral themes are also some of the displays I very much appreciated. The painting below the two art pieces in the middle is beautiful with its light aura and simply beautiful subject.

The big
"Hue and Me" sign with doodles is quite fascinating knowing that these were drawn by hand. The drawings are very reminiscent of childhood especially in high school wherein most students love to doodle fun and cute characters most of the time.
Hue and Me was a great event for all artists and artsy people to discover, learn, and appreciate art. It was a very inspiring event because it exposed me to the different arts of Filipinos. The paintings and other art pieces encouraged me to express myself through different forms of artistry.
